Tivo slow to respond to remote

Seems to be getting slower and often doesn't respond at all.
I've tried different remotes. Same

Any clues please ?

Have you tried a restart on the Tivo or new batteries in the remote?

Have you recently installed low energy lightbulbs? - these have caused IR interference in the past.

Tivo has been off for a day to have a rest. No change

Batteries seem to be fine but I'll try some brand new ones just in case. Would be ironic if that were the problem.

We have 2 Tivos so I could swap over remotes and batteries too

Should also add that the light flashes fine on the remote. The Tivo ignores it
