Remote control codes for Amstard DRX595

Postby tormat » Fri Apr 03, 2015 12:59 pm

Does anyone have the remote codes for the latest Skybox from Amstrad, I've bought one with the intention of mounting it INSIDE the Tivo as a project, the model number is DRX595, I just assumed (wrongly) that it would use the same codes as my old Skybox, anyone?

I don't have this box myself but you could try the code for a Sky+ box, namely "Sky Digital" 20017.

Hi,

I have been using an Amstrad DRX550 for over (5) years - working satisfactory with code set as 20016-fast.,

Hope this helps.

Mike.

It was indeed the codes for Skyplus so many thanks for that, now all I have to figure out is how to make this blasted box resume after a power failure instead of coming on in standby...

That should be relatively simple. There are two sets of codes for each type of Sky box; one sends a "Sky" keypress just before the first digit, the other doesn't. If the delay between the Sky key and the first digit isn't long enough, change the overall speed down from fast to medium to slow and try again. Use your real Sky remote to keep putting the Sky box into standby when doing tests on TiVo's remote tester screen. You should be able to get your TiVo to consistently and reliably do a first channel-change from standby. However, this is meant for emergencies, really with a TiVo you should turn all those eco-warrior features off on the Digibox so that it doesn't drop into standby. It may be that the newer generation of boxes never ever work with the first channel-change, but at least only 1 recording is screwed instead of them all!

(Edit: I've re-read. you did say after a power failure. Fair enough!)

"No Sky button" codes for the primary (TV) lineup:
20006 - for normal Digiboxes
20010 - for Sky+ (and Sky+HD?) Digiboxes

"Sky button" codes for the primary (TV) lineup - sends "Sky" + 3 digits:
20016 - for normal Digiboxes
20017 - for Sky+ (and Sky+HD?) Digiboxes

"Sky button" codes for the secondary (Sky Radio) lineup - - sends "Sky", then "0", then the 3 digits:
20057 - for normal Digiboxes
20058 - for Sky+ (and Sky+HD?) Digiboxes

HTH and someone please add this to the FAQ :)

My codes are from notes made over the years and involvement in testing them. I see that 20016 is reported as working on a dxr550, cool/interesting as the non-HD Sky+ boxes definitely had different codes added. For some reason I thought that the HD boxes continued with that newer set of codes, I must have read that on here before.
