Ok as far as I can tell (but I'm no expert) your Tivo has a database corruption which it seems unable to self-fix.

How's your power supply? These errors have been known to be caused by worn PSUs. Try removing the cachecard and see if it will boot up (this slightly reduces the power draw). But I think you said you tried this disc in another Tivo (?) so that's not it.

Another source for these errors is bad data. Some people have found that a "Clear and Delete Everything" fixes the reboots. However you will (i) lose all your recordings, (ii) not be able to do that if your Tivo doesn't boot in the first place!

Failing that I think you are left with rebuilding the disc as the only option.

It is possible to get the recordings off (by putting the disc in a PC) but it requires the right tools and quite a bit of effort.

Unless anyone else has some other ideas?

If the corruption is in guide data rather than recorded programmes then you may find that it clears itself once the data has timed out. I think some guide data may be retained for 28 days after the air date (to stop TiVo recording repeats of stuff you've recently recorded) so 28 + about 10 days ahead (-ish, depending on channel) might do it.

Thanks for the suggestion - I've left the disk for now and will check it again in a few weeks... I've rebuilt three spare disks, so using one of those for now

I tried the old / corrupt disk this week (blew my PSU in the process :roll:

The Tivo still kept rebooting so looks like the HDD is a gonna.
