STB missing IR digits from TiVo

I have just taught my spare TiVo the ir codes for a cheepo Freeview STB. (Found in the loft of the house we have just moved to)

There is no problem telling the box to change to single digit channels, but multi digit usually only gets the first one, so I think TiVo can't be leaving enough gap between signals .. there is no problem using its own remote for multi digit channels ..

Is there a way I can slow the rate down?

I'm just guessing here but maybe you could set the TiVo to use the "slow" code equivalent of whatever STB code number you are currently using. (e.g. "Code 011 Slow" instead of "Code 011 Fast")

That doesn't seem to be an option when you have created the ir-codes for a stb not previously known to TiVo
