No EPG for a week?

Postby The maverick » Wed Nov 27, 2019 6:48 pm

TiVo is not updating guide data saying number unavailable (I assume this isnt the case?). Tried all the usual things rebooting, rebooting router chainging powerline adapter to no avail.

Powerline adapters are known to be iffy with TiVo. (Search this forum for "powerline" using the search box above)

Try connecting direct to your router (with a long cable!) and see if you can make a daily call.

Unfortunatley the cable out of the TiVo only just reachs the router.

Yep. Usually it's adding a new appliance that can throw it off (e.g. you buy a new fridge and your TiVo stops working!).

Powerline is very flakey. Most computers will adapt to the failed transmissions across the mains network, but TiVo (which was never designed to work this way) is less able to recover from network failures.

You can buy cable joiners on ebay for a few pennies (e.g. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251360544517 ) (Don't buy the over-priced ones from PCWorld, Currys, etc)
or an extension lead https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200453459769
