Strange post-viewing behavour?

Our TiVo has started doing something odd - and I don't know why

SOMETIMES when we reach the end of a recording and hit the "left" button to go back to the summary screen where we can delete the recording - TiVo shows us the NEXT program from Now Playing and the recording we just watched has gone!

Anyone else seen this?

Pretty sure they're OK - why do you ask? Certainly TiVo is responding in a way that suggests the batteries are OK

(Oh, and when I check the "deleted programs" they ARE there, just as if I'd actually deleted them!)

Sometimes when batteries in remotes start to fail they can send garbled codes which can be misinterpreted by the TV/TiVo. Probably not the problem, but it's still worth checking in case it's a simple fix

I assume it's a regular peanut and not a US/programmable one?

I also assume you've rebooted TiVo? (Yes I *am* an IT Professional :D )

So to get what you're seeing, from the end of a program (when the "have you finished..." message is displayed) you would need to press "Select, Select" to get the behaviour you are seeing? (I think - I'm working from memory as I don't have a TiVo to hand)

Ex-IT-professional here too 😁

Not rebooted (yet)

We don’t normally get RIGHT to the end of programs, but near the end we’d hit Left, Down,Down, Select. The first time it happened I just noticed at the last minute that the program I was about to delete was NOT the one we’d just watched. And the one we had watched was deleted already

Only happened twice, but that’s once more than “just one of those things!
